September
Attendance Streak.
A simple, positive whole-school attendance campaign for the first month of the academic year. Build routines, celebrate connection and help pupils establish an attendance habit before absence patterns take hold.
September Streak Board
Click days below in the interactive tracker to build a pupil, class or tutor-group streak.
One campaign. Four simple habits.
Keep September focused and visible. The campaign is deliberately light-touch so class teachers, tutors, pastoral teams and attendance staff can all use it.
Warm start
Welcome pupils personally, notice their arrival and reconnect after the summer. Belonging comes before bureaucracy.
Daily: 30 secondsTrack the streak
Celebrate consecutive days or weeks of attendance. Use class, tutor, year-group or individual streaks without publishing sensitive data.
Weekly: 5 minutesAct early
Where a streak breaks, respond with curiosity. Check barriers, contact home supportively and agree one practical next step.
Same day where possibleCelebrate progress
Recognise improvement, resilience and re-engagement — not just 100% attendance. Make success achievable for more pupils.

Family message for week one
“September is about building the routines that help children feel settled, connected and ready to learn. We are celebrating every positive attendance step this month. If mornings, transport, anxiety, health or anything else is making attendance difficult, please tell us early — support works best when we work together.”
Reward effort, improvement and reconnection. Avoid making pupils with medical needs, SEND or complex circumstances feel blamed or excluded.
